Despite the steady rain pour, the ATC Flag Football Championship was held on Sunday, October 8th under the lights at St. Vincent – St. Mary John Cistone Field.
Both games were contested to the very end. In the Consolation Championship, it was Carl of the Knights who posted 2 touchdowns to give them the 3rd place title over the Minutemen by the score of 19-12.
In the Championship game, the Irish jumped out on top early in the game, followed by a comeback from the Warriors. With the score 28-22 in favor of the Irish, the Warriors drove down to the Irish 2 yard line where their drive stalled out on a 4th and goal. With time running out, the Warriors tried a desperation pass that bounced off a Warrior player into the hands of an Irish player who took it 35 yards for an interception touchdown. The Irish won the title by the score of 34-22.
ATC would like to thank all the volunteers who helped this season and a special thanks to the Revere Football team for once again being at every session playing the game and creating so many memories.
