This position requires a creative/energetic individual who will provide supervision and instruction of social/recreational activities to adults with developmental disabilities.

United Disability Services has a Habilitation Aide position available at our Kent facility. This is a direct care position that serves adults with developmental disabilities, and is responsible for assisting consumers with all personal needs. Hours worked are Mon-Fri, no evenings.

Experience preferred in lifting, feeding and working with adults with developmental disabilities, but not required. Training will be provided. Workshop Specialist I— Vocational (Akron)

United Disability Services has full-time positions with no evening/weekend hours open in our Akron facility. This position fulfills an instructor/trainer role for our DD population and directly involved in personal care, instruction, training, and supervision of consumers.  This position requires the ability to implement written training and behavior modification programs as instructed.

Consumer Outreach Specialist

United Disability Services, an accredited social service Agency, has openings for Consumer Outreach Specialist positions in our Residential program to work flexible part-time hours approximately 20 hours per week taking adults with disabilities into the community. In this position you will be accompanying adults with disabilities in the community taking them to concerts, helping them budget, attending sporting events, grocery shopping and many more activities. 

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required. Must be willing to use own transportation; with mileage reimbursement. Required: HS/GED; 5 yrs driving experience w/ good driving record, required level of car insurance, background check, and physical w/drug screen.

Employment Trainer— Summit County (Part-time)

United Disability Services currently has 2 part-time positions (approximately 20 hours per week) training and supervising adults with disabilities at places of work throughout the community. Employment Trainers work on short term assignments (1 to 4 weeks) one-on-one with different clients in the community, teaching various job skills. 

The ideal candidate will be dependable and flexible, with the ability to think critically and use independent judgment in decision-making situations. Detailed report writing and effective interpersonal communication to teach and role model positive work skills and behaviors to participants. HS diploma or equivalent required. College degree and/or at least two years’ experience working with people with disabilities in a vocational setting preferred. Must be available to work a daytime shift Monday through Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) about 20 hours per week. Must pass a background check and physical w/drug screen. Must have 5 years driving experience with a proven safe driving record. Hourly pay commensurate with experience.
