Residential Services

United Disability Services offers a variety of residential services to help people with developmental disabilities live in the community. We do so by providing them with the supports they need to reach their highest level of independence.
Group Homes
UDS operates several group homes located in safe, quiet neighborhoods throughout Summit County. Four individuals share each house, all of which are comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated to create a warm and welcoming environment. Residents enjoy the comfort and privacy of their own bedrooms, while sharing the kitchen, dining and community living areas with roommates and staff members. Family-style dining is encouraged, so everyone can come together to enjoy a meal and share conversation before leaving for work or other day programming and again at the end of a busy day. Each home also has its own lift-equipped van giving residents convenient, safe and reliable transportation to community events, visits with friends and family, or medical and other appointments.
All homes are staffed 24-hours a day, seven days a week with home managers and support specialists who ensure the comfort and safety of residents by preparing meals, assisting with personal care and helping to coordinate schedules and activities. The homes are owned and maintained by the Summit Housing Development Corporation.
Supported Living Services
Supported Living Services are for people living semi-independently in their own home or apartment but benefit from some additional supports to improve or maintain their independence. This may include help with daily living skills such as budgeting, housekeeping or grocery shopping.
In-Home Support Services
In-Home Support Services are much like the services for semi-independent living but are for individuals living in a family setting.
Foster Care Services
United Disability Services also provides Foster Care Services where room, board, personal care and supervision take place in the home of a certified provider who serves as the primary direct caregiver.
