United Disability Services has joined forces with Steel Academy, Inc. to offer a nontraditional approach to education for students with learning differences who have had difficulty finding success in other school environments.
The Steel Academy is a free public community school focusing on students in grades 7-12 with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and gifted students who need to be challenged. The Academy prepares students for college or post-graduate careers and to be happy, productive lifelong learners. Our students learn through the discovery and understanding of the visual and performing arts as they relate to core academic subjects. The school also offers many extracurricular activities to enhance the lives of our students including the opportunity to participate in various aspects of the arts and sports.
The mission of The Steel Academy is to inspire students with learning differences by maximizing their educational experience through the integration of academics with the visual and performing arts.
We are now enrolling. Please join us in exploring this one-of-a-kind educational experience that will provide engaging activities for hands-on learning while helping students excel in finding life-long learning success.
