The UDS All-Star Training Club is excited to bring you the first video in our NEW Virtual Summer Series!
Since COVID-19 prevents us from safely participating as usual this summer sports season, we are creating virtual videos you can do right at home or in a safe place where you can practice social distancing. This is an exciting way to stay active together and learn new skills while we are apart.
The first video of the summer series features Ron Tristano, PGA Professional and manager of the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Challenge Golf Program, and Charles, an All-Star Training Club athlete. Ron will be teaching you some golf basics to help improve your game while Charles demonstrates them for you. This is a great way to learn more about the sport of golf while also learning about the unique history of the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Challenge Golf Program. The program began in 1986 as an extension of the rehabilitation work being done at Edwin Shaw Hospital, a comprehensive rehabilitation facility in Akron. It was created to help people adapt the game of golf to each individual’s specific capabilities. In 1991, they built the nation’s first accessible golf course. The program continues to fulfill its mission today and remains a storied piece of Akron’s history.
Special thanks to Ron Tristano and Cleveland Clinic Akron General for helping us bring this to you. Check out the first All-Star Training Club virtual sports video below! We hope you enjoy it.
This video series will also be available on the UDS Facebook page. Follow us on Facebook to keep up with the latest virtual programming options available to you and more ways to stay active with the All-Star Training Club. Stay safe, healthy, and #UDSStrong. #UDSAllStars
