Transportation Services

UDS Transportation Services operates one of the largest fleets of accessible vehicles in the area, providing safe and reliable transportation for our passengers who attend the agency’s adult day services programs and those in need of Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) for medical appointments. Our lift-equipped vans are also available to community organizations for special events on a contract basis.

  • Adult Day Services

    United Disability Services operates a fleet of more than 40 vehicles that drive more than 600,000 miles each year providing safe and accessible transportation for our passengers who attend the agency’s adult day services programs including SociAbilities, Vocational Services, BraVo!, and various job sites within the community. Transportation Services is responsible for the curb-to-curb transportation needs of more than 300 passengers each day.

  • NET (Non-emergency Transportation)

    UDS also provides non-emergency in- and out-of-county transportation to qualified individuals who need transportation to:

    • Doctor appointments
    • Outpatient medical testing
    • Dialysis
    • Chemotherapy
    • Dentist appointments
    • Therapy appointments
    • Eye doctor appointments
    • Pharmacy

    Our dispatchers will do their best to accommodate any special requests for specific pick up or drop off times due to work schedules, but because of the complex scheduling of daily bus routes this may not always be possible.     NET funding is provided by the Summit County Department of Job and Family Services.

  • Special Event Transportation

    Our lift-equipped vans are also available to community organizations on a contract basis. UDS has met the special transportation needs of a variety of community events including the National Super Kids Classic soap box derby race for children with special needs, the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship and various special events. Contract rates are available for special transportation requests.

  • Training & Maintenance

    Our courteous and professional drivers receive training or certification in CPR and first aid, behavior management, vehicle safety procedure, defensive driving techniques, the proper handling of bloodborne pathogens and in recognizing the signs of abuse and neglect. All of the agency’s full-time drivers hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

    All agency vehicles are regularly maintained by a staff mechanic and inspected annually by the State Highway Patrol to ensure the safety of every vehicle.
