It’s that time of year when wintry weather reminds us to slow down and savor cozy pleasures. Our theme for Issue 80 of Kaleidoscope is “Winterscapes.” January is the perfect month for enjoying seasonal outdoor fun, no matter whether you live in the frigid North or along the balmy southern coastline. Then, settle indoors with a relaxing beverage and dig into the current selection of stories, articles, and poems that comprise our current issue.
“The Journey Continues” with Issue 77 of Kaleidoscope. The significance of this choice is twofold. First, beginning with Issue 78 Kaleidoscope will be under new editorial leadership. Second, this will be my last issue as editor since I am retiring, I will have to see where my own personal journey will take me now. In this issue though, readers will find what I believe is our usual assortment of powerful and thought-provoking essays, fiction, and poetry.
Issue 76 of Kaleidoscope explores the theme of “Life’s Unpredictability.” Essentially, how people can be going about the business of their daily lives and suddenly everything is upended by a circumstance beyond their control—something we all can relate to in one way or another.
