  • Full-time Bus/Van Driver

  • Director of Human Resources

    United Disability Services has an opening for Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources serves as part of the leadership team and is responsible for directing and coordinating agency activities such as employment, compensation, benefits, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, training, and more.  As the Director of HR you will establish and implement programs and policies that are designed to protect agency and employee interests in accordance with agency policies and governmental laws and regulations.  This position will be responsible for supervising the staff of the human resources department and will foster an active environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  This position will report directly to the President/CEO.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
    • 8 years of experience working in Human Resources field including management experience.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
    • Excellent human relations and people sensitive skills; organizational and planning skills, including the ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines; ability to take initiative, analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills; ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
    • Must be comfortable using computers and other technology.
    • Current driver’s license and personal vehicle meeting Agency insurance requirements.

    Hours:

    Normal business hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm, must be available to work occasional evening and weekends.

  • Personal Care Coordinator

    As the Personal Care Coordinator you will be responsible for the supervision and direct care of individuals served and coordinating the personal care activities within the program. The position works in collaboration with other Direct Support Specialists I in meeting the personal care needs of individuals. You will be able to update schedules and coordinate break time, lunchtime, and transportation for arrivals/departures. You will communicate with supervisors and recommend solutions for personal care needs and scheduling. The Personal Care Coordinator will support and coordinate personal care both at UDS and in the community. You will have the ability to assess and assist individuals with their personal care needs in a way that preserves their right to privacy and dignity.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma/GED or a minimum of three years related experience
    • Experience working with individuals with ID/DD specifically addressing their personal care and physical needs
    • Experience with lifting transfers, feeding/modified dietary requirements and urological equipment preferred
    • Delegated Nursing Certification successfully completed within six months of hire

  • Summer Employment Trainer (Part-Time)

    Do you want to have an impact on students with cognitive, physical and/or emotional needs who are exploring careers and work? Are you looking for work that is fulfilling?  Employment Trainers for our Summer Programs will provide jobsite assessment and training for groups of 1-4 high school students at employment locations in the community or provide virtual classes to students following a provided curriculum.

    As an Employment Trainer you will be flexible and have the ability to adapt easily to new settings, be patient, observant and have the ability to clearly communicate observations and recommendations both orally and in writing. If you want to do work that has a meaningful impact on others this job is for you!

    We are seeking Employment Trainers in Summit, Portage, and Stark counties.

    Required:

    • HS/GED; background check, and physical with drug screen.
    • Access to a computer and a reliable internet connection to complete and submit reports at the end of assignments

    Hours:

    • Monday – Friday, June 7–August 13
    • Mornings and Early afternoons totaling up to 25 hrs./week

    Pay:

    • Starting pay of $10.73/hr. or more based on experience

This position fulfills an instructor/trainer role for our DD population and is directly involved in personal care, instruction, training, and supervision of consumers.  It requires the ability to implement written training and behavior modification programs as instructed.

    • Must have valid driver’s license and five years driving experience.
    • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities desirable.
    • HS/GED required.

    The Employment Trainers provide individualized jobsite assessment and training for people with disabilities at employment locations in the community. The individuals we work with are exploring and working in a variety of industries, including healthcare, production, office/administrative, food service, education, building maintenance, sales, and more.

    Ideal candidates are those who are flexible and adapt easily to new settings, patient, observant, and able to clearly communicate observations and recommendations both orally and in writing. Candidates will also need access to internet and computer and must meet timelines for submitting reports at completion of assignments.

    Employment Trainers have flexibility in choosing the short-term assignments they want to work, that range from 5-25 hours/week, with each assignment lasting 1-5 weeks. Pay rate starts at $10.73/hour or more based on experience. Assignments are located in Summit, Portage, Cuyahoga, Stark, Medina, and Wayne counties and are paid mileage if assignment is located outside the county in which Employment Trainer lives.

    Required: Good driving record (no more than 4 points), must possess current/valid Ohio driver’s license, HS/GED; background check, and physical with drug screen. EOE.
