Club Teamwork Sock Donation Drive

Students from Stow-Munroe Falls High School who participate in Club Teamwork want to make this winter a little warmer for people in need by collecting socks for local homeless shelters now through January 31. Donations of men’s, women’s and children’s socks are being accepted. (New socks only, please.) Sock donations will be divided between Summit and Portage County homeless shelters.

Socks are one of the most commonly requested items from homeless shelters yet are often the least donated. All types of warm socks are needed including athletic socks and dress socks for job interviews. Club Teamwork’s goal is to collect at least 2,000 pairs of socks by the end of the drive. Collection box locations are as follows:

  • Stow-Munroe Falls High School
  • Stow City Hall
  • Munroe Falls City Hall
  • Christian James Salon in Cuyahoga Falls
  • Studio Wish Salon in Twinsburg
  • Pulp in Streetsboro
  • Kent Police Department
  • United Disability Services locations in Akron, Kent, and Twinsburg

Club Teamwork is an inclusive after school club that provides an environment where young people with and without disabilities can play, laugh and learn together. The Club gives every student the opportunity to showcase talents and abilities, make a positive impact in the community and build lasting friendships.

Club Teamwork is a partnership between United Disability Services and Stow-Munroe Falls High School, and is supported through a grant from the National Inclusion Project. The National Inclusion Project is a nationwide program that serves to bridge the gap that exists between young people with disabilities and the world around them. The organization works to ensure that the inclusion of children with disabilities is the expectation and not the exception.

If anyone knows of a business or organization that would be willing to put a box in their lobby or would want to collect sock donations from their employees, please contact us today.
