Administrative Assistant (Human Resources) — Part time

UDS has a part-time position available for an Administrative Assistant responsible for handling the administrative and record keeping functions of the Human Resources Department. The position will also support general administrative duties for the Finance Department and other agency departments as assigned. This position is responsible for handling specific program-related projects independently and is directly supervised by and responsible to the Director of Human Resources.

Position requires ability to work well with people; be self-driven and must treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion; excellent organizational abilities; and strong computer and data entry skills. 

High School or GED plus a minimum of two years of HR office experience and strong administrative skills. Associate’s Degree in related field preferred. Computer literate in Microsoft Office.  Experience using ADP, is helpful. BCI; references and physical w/drug screen required.

Direct Support Specialist I — Float (Adult Services)

United Disability Services has a full-time Direct Support Specialist - Float position opening in our Adult Services Department serving adults with developmental disabilities. This position will be trained to work in all areas and both locations within Adult Services, and will fill vacancies due to absences.  These positions are an instructor/trainer role and will be directly involved in instruction, training and supervision and personal care of consumers.

Experience preferred in lifting, feeding and working with adults with developmental disabilities, but not required.  Training will be provided.  Valid Driver’s license and proven safe driving record are required if driving agency vehicles. Requirements include proof of HS/GED.   

These positions will offer the opportunity to earn additional one-time base salary increases of $.25 per hour at intervals of 6 months and 1 year.

Employment Trainer (Part-Time)

The Employment Trainers provide individualized jobsite assessment and training for people with disabilities at employment locations in the community. The individuals we work with are exploring and working in a variety of industries, including healthcare, production, office/administrative, food service, education, building maintenance, sales, and more.

Ideal candidates are those who are flexible and adapt easily to new settings, patient, observant, and able to clearly communicate observations and recommendations both orally and in writing. Candidates will also need access to internet and computer and must meet timelines for submitting reports at completion of assignments.

Employment Trainers have flexibility in choosing the short-term assignments they want to work, that range from 5-25 hours/week, with each assignment lasting 1-5 weeks. Pay rate starts at $10.73/hour or more based on experience. Assignments are located in Summit, Portage, Cuyahoga, Stark, Medina, and Wayne counties and are paid mileage if assignment is located outside the county in which Employment Trainer lives.

Required: Good driving record (no more than 4 points), must possess current/valid Ohio driver’s license, HS/GED; background check, and physical with drug screen.

Consumer Outreach Specialist

United Disability Services, an accredited social service Agency, has openings for Consumer Outreach Specialist positions in our Residential program to work flexible part-time hours approximately 10-20 hours per week taking adults with disabilities into the community. In this position you will be accompanying adults with disabilities in the community taking them to concerts, helping them budget, attending sporting events, grocery shopping and many more activities. 

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required. Must be willing to use own transportation; with mileage reimbursement. Required: HS/GED; 5 yrs driving experience with good driving record, required level of car insurance, background check, and physical with drug screen.
